I worked in the district office so we only dealt with constituent issues such as healthcare, education, and veteran problems.

This was an unpaid internship
This internship had no financial reimbursement
How did you find out about this internship?
website
What tasks or projects did you complete during this internship?
Going through the newspaper and writing letters of recognition to members of the community, data entry, military academy recommendation letters. I was also asked to be part of a state-wide program called "How will we welcome our veterans home?" which entailed surveying every hospital and writing about the different services they offered and their insurance policies.
What skills did you learn?
Was the atmosphere friendly? Unfriendly?
It was a very friendly atmosphere but people had serious work to do so it was at times a bit quiet and boring.
Are you still in touch with this organization? Would you consider working there?
Yes, I'm still in touch with the district officer. I would consider working there but she didn't get re-elected. ;)
Would you recommend this internship? Was it challenging & fun? Or boring & not worth your time?
I would recommend a similar internship not necessarily because I learned valuable skills but because it was a good resume builder.
